Ja: This is an ambitious, multidisciplinary project that will provide something really new and exciting for Amsterdam East residents and community. I am so excited to read about the details in this vision. Amsterdam East is home to an incredibly rich and diverse community - unlike any other place I have visited in the world. In a time of increasing individualism and isolation, which is being borne out in poorer health outcomes (particularly mental health), I believe we need to actively support people to engage in group projects that build communication and cooperation skills. Collaborative art-making projects such as this one provide an opportunity for residents to understand their own place in the fabric of the multi-layered community of Amsterdam, and empowers them to contribute in collective ways to the imaginings of a vibrant future.
